The Subspecialty Surgical PA Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking to add a full-time board-certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its surgical APP team. The Surgical APP Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center is a hospital-based group that offers a supportive and team-based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties, including but not limited to Urology and Gyn-Oncology. The surgical rounder will care for all surgical inpatients, perform consults, admissions, and discharges.

This position currently does not require O.R. first assisting.

In-house shift to include management of surgical floor patients. Specialties covered include but are not limited to Urology and Gyn-Oncology.

Perform history and physicals for any consults or admissions from the emergency department or inpatient floors for the surgery department.

Confer with attending physician, nursing staff, and other advanced practice providers in plan of care to ensure optimal quality patient care.

There is no current O.R. first assisting need. This is a possibility for growth in the future.

This position is for full-time days, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., 4-day work week with required holiday coverage, weekend, and call obligation.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and be NCCPA certified or Nurse Practitioner program with licensure.

BLS and ACLS certification required.

Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner by the New York State Department of Education required.

New graduates will be considered.
