    Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – PPEC

    Job Summary:

    The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center provides skilled nursing care to medically fragile and/or technology-dependent children in a non-residential daycare setting. The LPN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or physician to ensure safe, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate care.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with complex medical needs

    • Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and report changes promptly

    • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed

    • Manage medical equipment such as feeding tubes, ventilators, oxygen, and tracheostomies

    • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding, bathing, and mobility

    • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation

    • Follow individualized care plans and physician orders

    • Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed

    • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding the child’s care and progress

    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (RNs, therapists, physicians)

    • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies

    Qualifications:

    • Current, active LPN license in the state of employment

    • Current CPR/BLS certification (PALS preferred)

    • Experience in pediatric, home health, or long-term care preferred

    • Knowledge of pediatric medical conditions and equipment

    • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills

    Work Environment:

    • Pediatric daycare-style medical facility (PPEC)

    • Fast-paced, team-oriented setting

    • Requires standing, lifting, and assisting children with mobility needs

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and transfer pediatric patients

    • Prolonged standing, walking, and bending

    • Manual dexterity for handling medical equipment

    Additional Skills:

    • Compassion and patience when working with children and families

    • Attention to detail and strong documentation skills

    • Ability to multitask and prioritize care effectively



    Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
