What we do: Our Software Engineers are end-to-end owners who have the opportunity to participate in many aspects of designing, building, and delivering data-focused products for our stakeholders. At The Trade Desk, we believe in building the backend infrastructure of our platform with a focus on quality at scale. Whether we are building parts of our client-facing applications, internal custom solutions for our own team members, or model pipelines for bidding optimizations, we are making sure that we have infrastructure, development, and tools to do it right and efficien Our system performs every day, 24/7, serving global traffic. We build a distributed system in a highly collaborative environment, utilizing a broad range of technologies. Our backend developers work on finding solutions to algorithmic, optimization, and scale challenges in everything we do. What we do The Custom Solutions team, part of the Business Engineering organization, develops, enhances, and optimizes the internal tools and services that power The Trade Desk's business teams. We focus on building custom solutions-tools that can't simply be bought off the shelf-to address unique business challenges and drive operational excellence. Our projects include systems for managing business incentives, streamlining client onboarding, and maintaining and improving our billing platform. We are also actively exploring ways to integrate AI-powered tools to help TTD employees work more efficiently, automate routine tasks, and unlock new levels of productivity. As a small, fast-paced, and collaborative group of engineers, we take pride in seeing our work directly improve the day-to-day experience of our colleagues. We work closely with a product manager and partner directly with business stakeholders, ensuring our solutions have a meaningful and immediate impact on The Trade Desk's success. What you'll do: Develop, enhance, and optimize internal tools, processes, and services that empower The Trade Desk's business teams. Contribute to complex projects involving both frontend and backend components, collaborating with other engineers to deliver robust solutions. Maintain and improve the reliability, scalability, and compliance of our systems through high-quality code and automated testing. Analyze data to identify opportunities for operational improvements and clearly communicate the impact of your work. Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, working closely to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions. Participate in code reviews, sharing feedback and best practices to help the team grow and maintain high standards. Take ownership of smaller projects or features, while supporting larger team initiatives led by senior engineers. Who you are: You care deeply about improving the experience, tools, and processes of your business team colleagues. You drive innovative solutions while being sensitive to the current needs and rea ities of stakeholders. You can turn technically ambiguous requirements into concrete and thorough designs and execution plans. You have 2+ years of software development, engineering experience. You have a Bachelor's/Master's level degree in computer science or relevant engineering-related field or equivalent experience. Not everyone has the same level of access to opportunities. You have additional nice-to-have experience in the following areas: Proficiency with C#, Typescript and React Developing applications and services using .NET Experience with CI/CD practices, including designing build pipelines and deploying microservices Familiarity with GraphQL and SQL A variety of technical opportunities is one of the best things about working at The Trade Desk as a software engineer, which is why we do not expect you to know every technology we use when you start.
