Full Stack Software Engineer (Data Visualization & Dashboards), Portfolio Management

Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Full Stack Software Engineer who can turn complex, high-volume data into clear, elegant, and intuitive experiences. In this role you will build the web applications and dashboards that leaders across the enterprise rely on to make decisions, translating dense datasets into visualizations that are accurate, performant, and a pleasure to use. You will own features end to end, from the data layer and APIs through to a polished, responsive React front end.

You'll work across a nimble, action-oriented team, partnering closely with Portfolio Management and business stakeholders to understand the questions behind the data and design interfaces that answer them/tell a story. Ideal candidates pair strong full-stack engineering fundamentals with a genuine eye for UI/UX and a track record of making complicated information feel simple. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of technology.

What You'll Do:
- Build and own full-stack features end to end: data models, APIs, and a modern React front end, delivering intuitive dashboards and visualizations over complex, high-volume datasets.
- Translate ambiguous business questions and dense data into clear, elegant, and interactive user experiences that both technical and non-technical audiences can act on.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to shape requirements, prototype quickly, and iterate feedback.
- Care about craft: responsive layouts, accessibility, performance, and thoughtful interaction design, not just correct data.
- Tackle complex problems with a first-principles mindset and a natural inclination toward simple, maintainable solutions.
- Mentor and partner with other engineers to share best practices and raise the quality bar across the team.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement performant data-visualization components and dashboards that render large or streaming datasets without sacrificing clarity or speed.
- Build and maintain the backend services and query layers that feed those experiences, ensuring data is fast, correct, and secure.
- Embrace rapid iteration: prioritize speed and learning by delivering minimum lovable products and evolving them through continuous feedback.
- Support project planning and execution: help prioritize work, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality code.
- Collaborate with engineers and business partners to align priorities, define goals, and deliver impactful outcomes.
- Continuously refine engineering practices and champion improvements that elevate team performance and product excellence.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with a strong coding background in TypeScript/JavaScript and a server-side language such as Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Deep, hands-on expertise building complex React applications from scratch and the modern front-end ecosystem (e.g., Next.js, component-driven architecture, hooks, state management) and CSS/styling frameworks such as Tailwind.
- Demonstrated experience building data visualizations and dashboards, with fluency in a charting or visualization library (e.g., Vega/Vega-Lite, D3, ECharts, or similar) and data-grid tooling for complex tabular data.
- A strong eye for UI/UX: able to design intuitive, accessible, responsive interfaces that make complex data easy to understand and act on.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs and working with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL or similar) and query builders/ORMs; comfort with large-scale or analytical data stores is a plus.
- Solid engineering fundamentals: testing, CI/CD, version control, code review, and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills, equally effective in writing and speaking, and skilled at translating complex ideas into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to navigate conflict, build trust, and foster alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Preferred Qualifications
- Passion for our mission and values.
- Experience with analytical or data-warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and caching layers (e.g., Redis).
- Experience integrating LLM-based APIs, AI agents, or prompt-based workflows into applications.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker).
- Experience in Project Management tools (e.g., Smartsheet and Clarity PPM)
- Experience integrating data across Smartsheet, Jira, SAP, ServiceNow, Clarity PPM, Power BI, and related platforms
- A track record of shipping polished, user-facing products in ambiguous or early-stage environments.

Nice to Have:
- Experience with PowerBI Data Models and schemas, DAX measures, calculated tables, and model relationships to support a legacy platform while we migrate to the new solution

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work
