Position Overview
The Cytotechnologist will be responsible for examining cellular samples to detect abnormalities and support accurate diagnoses. This role plays a critical part in patient care by ensuring high-quality laboratory analysis and collaboration with pathologists and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens
  • Identify abnormal cell structures and classify findings accurately
  • Collaborate with pathologists to confirm diagnoses
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of findings
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and quality assurance standards
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with advancements in cytotechnology and laboratory practices

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology, Biology, or a related field
  • Completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program
  • CT (ASCP) certification required or eligible
  • Active Pennsylvania state licensure (if applicable) or ability to obtain
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
