Overview:
Under the direction of the Clinic Nurse Manager, Ambulatory Operations Manager, or Ambulatory Administrator, supervises and coordinates the day-to-day clinic activities and personnel issues for the front office staff located in the ambulatory setting. Participates with and acts as a liaison in conjunction with the Medical Director and the Ambulatory Operations Manager/Director with all other hospital departments and patients.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
- Associate's Degree
- Experience may be substituted on the basis of 2 years experience for one year of college.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree.
Necessary Skills:
1. Above average written and verbal communication skills.
2. Ability to work well under pressure.
3. Demonstrates ability to be fair-minded and objective.
4. Demonstrates Client Service knowledge.
5. Thorough knowledge of clinical support functions including, but not limited to: registration, scheduling, insurance coordination of benefits, managed care and collections.
Required Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a medical ambulatory setting (Physician's office, etc.)
Preferred Experience:
- One to two (1-2) years supervisory experience preferred.
- One year computer experience with HBOC or IDX.
- Experience with spreadsheet and word processing programs.
Supervision:
- Supervisory responsibility of 5-10 employees.
