Job Description

We are seeking an Front Office Production Support / Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in front-office FICC Credit application support, UNIX/Shell scripting, Python, and SQL, and a proven ability to ensure timely incident restoration, maintain quality of service, and deliver effective support for trading and risk teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-office application support for FICC Credit trading, including incident and problem management on the trading floor.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve production issues with clear communication to traders, sales, and management.
  • Manage the user query mailbox and ensure timely, accurate responses across the team's scope.
  • Develop support tooling and automation using Python and JavaScript to reduce manual tasks.
  • Support and troubleshoot Autosys and Python-based batch feeds.
  • Monitor and manage alerts for critical trading systems using ITRS Geneos and related observability tools.
  • Execute incident communications, coordinate escalations, and ensure accurate stakeholder updates.
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base content.
  • Follow up with development, infrastructure, and offshore teams to drive resolution of root causes.
  • Assist with metrics and reporting for Python-based systems and Java applications.
  • Coordinate and execute Business Continuity testing and required documentation.
  • Independently organize and facilitate meetings to drive issue resolution.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline support operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with UNIX/Linux and Shell scripting for production support.
  • Strong Python development for tooling, automation, and data processing.
  • Solid SQL skills with Oracle SQL/PLSQL experience.
  • Experience with incident and problem management in front-office trading environments.
  • Familiarity with Quartz platform and batch scheduling using Autosys.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management across trading, risk, and technology teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of FI derivatives and bonds, mortgage loans, and FIX connectivity.
  • Experience with ITRS Geneos, Splunk, Ansible, and Dynatrace.
  • Background in regulatory reporting for FINRA TRACE and MiFID II.
