Are you a warm, organized professional who loves giving back? The Visiting Nurse Association of Texas is seeking a Front Office Coordinator to be the face of our Meals on Wheels program.

For nearly 100 years, the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA) has been a trusted pioneer in hospice care, helping our neighbors age with dignity and independence. Our mission-driven work spans 16 counties across North Texas—including Collin, Dallas, Denton, Kaufman, and Tarrant to rural communities in Fannin and Navarro—ensuring no one faces life's transitions alone. As a non-profit, we prioritize people over profits, treating every patient like family and maintaining a gold standard of clinical excellence. Beyond hospice, our community roots run deep through programs like Meals on Wheels.

We offer a competitive salary with mileage reimbursement and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and short- and long-term disability coverage. Employees also receive a 401(k) with a 6% company match and two-year vesting, generous PTO with six paid holidays and flexible days, professional development and education reimbursement opportunities, and the support of a mission-driven work environment.

In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and volunteers. You will blend top-tier customer service with operational support—managing front desk reception, processing client referrals, coordinating mail and supplies, and assisting with core administrative tasks that keep our program running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reception & Customer Service: Warmly welcome and assist visitors, clients, and volunteers. Manage a multi-line phone system, directing inquiries to the right team members.
  • Referral Processing & Admin: Coordinate incoming client referrals with high accuracy. Provide administrative support, including data entry, scanning, filing, and record maintenance.
  • Supply & Mail Logistics: Maintain the inventory of office and program supplies; fulfill requests for staff and volunteers. Manage incoming/outgoing mail and deliveries.
  • Program Support: Deliver meals to clients on an as-needed basis to support community operations and ensure continuity of service.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in customer service, administrative support, or a receptionist role. Experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, or social services setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional demeanor. High attention to detail and a strict commitment to confidentiality.
  • Requirements:
    • Valid Texas Driver’s License and current auto liability insurance.
    • Reliable transportation for occasional local travel or meal delivery backup.
    • Ability to pass a background check.

Working Conditions

This is an on-site office position with frequent public interaction. It requires standard office movements (sitting, standing, data entry) and the ability to lift office supplies or meal cases as needed. Occasional local travel within our service area is required.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Texas is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other status protected by federal, state, or local law.

About the Company

V

Visiting Nurse Association of Texas

Established in 1891, Visiting Nurse Association (VNA Home Health) is a nonprofit home health agency. We offer a wide range of in-home services for people in and around Kansas City. Our legacy of more than 125 years of excellence in home health comes from our belief that people not only need someone to care for them, they also need someone to care about them. That’s what we do at VNA, and our patients say it’s one of many things that set us apart.

As the oldest home health agency in Kansas City and the sixth oldest in the United States, we have history and experience patients can trust. We are governed by a volunteer board of directors that includes many of Kansas City’s most influential business and civic leaders. VNA nurses and therapists average more than ten years of patient care experience, with three to five years experience in home health care.

Through our dedication to the health and wellness of this community, we deliver positive clinical outcomes that exceed national averages. We use the latest technology available to meet the changing needs of our community.

What we do for our patients may be complex, but our mission is simple: to bring exceptional health care into the homes of everyone we serve.
