About the role
As Retail Lead, you'll set the tone on the floor — coaching the team beside you, running point on inventory accuracy and compliance, and stepping in as Lead on Duty when assigned. It's a hands-on leadership role at a dispensary that takes its team — and the people we serve — seriously.
You'll report to Retail Supervisor on shift, with oversight from the General Manager. If you've led a floor before and you're looking for a place where coaching, customer experience, and operational care all matter — this is the role.

What We're Looking For
You'll do well in this role if you:
You'll also need:
Cannabis experience? Nice to have, not required. We train you on everything you need to know about our products and the Joyleaf Way.
You'll Thrive Here If…
Our four values — empowerment, empathy & compassion, joyful experiences and excellence — aren't posters on the wall. They're how we hire, how we coach, and how we treat each other and every guest who walks through the door. As a Lead, you're the one bringing them to life for your team as well as our guests, every shift.
How We Hire
In 2025, Joyleaf was named Best Dispensary in New Jersey at the NECANN Cup — judged through a third-party secret-shopper program scoring customer experience, staff knowledge, and community impact across 220+ licensed dispensaries. That recognition belongs to our team, and we take it as a charge to keep hiring people who are values-aligned, high-performing, and ready to deliver the experience our guests have come to expect.
If we decide to move forward with your application, here's what to expect:
The Physical Part
You'll be on your feet for most of your shift, moving between the sales floor and the back of house. You'll regularly lift and carry boxes up to 10lbs, and occasionally up to 30 lbs. You'll spend time at a computer and at the register, and you'll be in active conversation with guests and teammates throughout the day.
Equal Opportunity
Joyleaf is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We're committed to building a team that reflects the community we serve, and a workplace where everyone belongs — regardless of disability, sex, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age, or veteran status. If you need a reasonable accommodation to apply, interview, or perform the role, please contact us directly.
