Hotel Greene is an upscale indoor mini golf course, restaurant, and bar (not an actual hotel!). We are looking for a floor shift manager to act as “master of ceremonies” on busy evenings and brunch shifts, as well as assist the General Manager in maintaining an organized and positive work environment. The ideal candidate is an individual who enjoys interacting with the public, displays grace under pressure, has substantial skills at diffusing tensions with customers consuming alcohol, and inspires team members around them. The position is full time, with weekend availability a must.
We are equal parts restaurant/bar, recreational activity, and theater. We need a strong front of house manager that genuinely enjoys a fast-paced and spontaneous game of guest satisfaction. Tech skills and POS experience is also required.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
· Mix among the guests and create a sense of special attention for each.
· Diffuse sometimes tense situations with guests frustrated by long wait times and/or consuming alcohol who need to be “cut off”
· Work with other desk associates, servers, and bartenders to ensure successful, efficient, and attentive service by managing and keeping the course flow on track
· Onboard and assist in training of new hires.
· Quick and accurate when cashing out guests, splitting checks, adding gratuity and overall proficiency with numbers.
· Maintain cleanliness and aesthetics of our gilded faux hotel.
Expectations and Requirements:
· Must be shockingly affable and have excellent communication skills
· Willing to work Friday and Saturday evenings
· Organized and high computer skills, capable of playing “tetris” on our POS systems with our lobby seating and guest arrivals
· Strong ability to develop people and inspire camaraderie
· Capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail, and actual love of the ups and downs of a busy service
· Ability to be on feet for several hours at a time
· High standards of personal hygiene and personal appearance
· Accuracy with math and ability to use excel
