Front of House (All Positions) for Smokin J's BBQ

FOH Managers are expected to be hands on managers, completing all the responsibilities listed below AND: Maintaining a clean and organized FOH. The attention to detail extends to the front of house where all our customers are greeted as friends and we create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and welcome.

At Smokin J's BBQ we strive to make our customers feel like the luckiest people in San Diego. We do this by paying attention to the details. Our meats are slow-smoked and pulled or sliced to order and everything is made in-house from scratch. The attention to detail extends to the front of house where all our customers are greeted as friends and we create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and welcome.

Smokin J’s BBQ is seeking friendly, energetic, and customer focused individuals to join our FOH team at our Poway location. We are looking for servers and a FOH manager to work in our high volume, quick-service restaurant.  

FOH manager pay is $26-32/hour ($20/hour base pay plus $6-13/hour in tips)

Server pay is $22.90-29.90/hour ($16.90/hour base pay plus $6-13/hour in tips)

FOH Manager Responsibilities:

Should have 1-2 years, minimum, of manager experience. FOH Managers are expected to be hands on managers, completing all the responsibilities listed below AND:

• Maintaining a clean and organized FOH
• Daily monitoring of menu item availability
• Weekly inventory of beverages and FOH supplies
• Take the lead in customer service and keep an upbeat, positive, and cohesive working environment
• consistently train and maintain server proficiency
• Auditing cash counts
• Proficient with computers and Excel

Server and FOH Manager:

Responsibilities: 

• Opening and/or closing procedures
• Taking orders, handling the POS system (Toast) and cash drawer
• Getting beverages (soda, beer, wine) for guests
• Running food and bussing tables
• Ensuring the patio and bar always stays clean and organized
• Making to-go cups for sauces, ketchup, and other condiments
• Answering general customer questions
• Taking phone orders

Physical Requirements: 

• Walking and standing for 5-8 hour shifts 
• Occasional bending
