QUALIFICATIONS

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

Candidates must possess at least 6 years of professional experience in the following:

  • Deep expertise in HTML5, CSS, and SASS.
  • Proven experience with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, ARIA landmarks/attributes, and resolving screen-reader compatibility issues.
  • Extensive experience with keyboard navigation mechanics, focus management, and screen reader testing (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver).
  • Proficiency with axe DevTools, WAVE, and other automated accessibility auditing tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate assets into Angular or MVC .NET environments.
  • Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications (The "Extra Edge")

Direct experience utilizing or extending the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS).

Experience working with established design systems or wrapper components.

Foundational understanding of UX principles and design workflows.

Location: Remote (Client: State of Iowa, DOM DoIT)

Interview Process: Interviews will be held on July 16th and 17th. Candidates must be available on these dates.

  • Author clean, semantic, and highly maintainable HTML5 and CSS/SASS.
    Accessibility Architecture: Implement digital accessibility from the ground up, ensuring full compliance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards, ARIA labels, and color contrast requirements.
  • Seamlessly integrate front-end components into Angular or MVC .NET frameworks.
  • Partner with the lead UX Architect to scale enterprise-level technical standards, including chatbot interfaces and global state footers.
  • Clearly articulate technical front-end requirements and accessibility best practices to both technical peers and agency stakeholders.
