We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Assistant to join a busy dental practice in Dothan. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent patient service abilities, and familiarity with dental office operations and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Prior experience with dental office management, medical billing, and insurance verification is highly preferred.
Work hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm.
Duties
  • Greet patients warmly and manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
  • Schedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims
  • Collect payments and perform medical billing and coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Manage patient records, update electronic health records (EHR), and ensure confidentiality of health information
  • Assist with patient intake procedures, including data entry and documentation review
  • Handle front desk administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and maintaining dental records
  • Support office management activities including appointment reminders, patient follow-up, and care plan documentation
  • Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and office procedures to provide efficient support
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology
  • Experience with dental practice management software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person
  • Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and process claims efficiently
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards for health information management
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse patient population
  • Previous clinic or dental office experience highly desirable; strong clerical or administrative background also beneficial
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
