At D&G Marine, we keep our community out on the water! We are a busy marine engine repair shop dedicated to providing top-notch service and reliable repairs. We are currently looking for a reliable, self-motivated, and organized Front Desk Coordinator to join our team and keep our front office running as smoothly as our engines.
Job Summary
As the face and voice of D&G Marine, you will be the bridge between our customers, our technicians, and our accountant. This is a dynamic, full-time role that blends customer service, parts coordination, and basic bookkeeping. If you love staying busy, learning new things, and managing multiple moving parts, you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Service Writing
- Greet customers, answer phone calls, and schedule service appointments.
- Listen to customer needs and accurately write up detailed work orders for the technicians.
- Call customers to communicate diagnostic results, explain recommended work, and provide repair estimates.
- Process customer payments and handle cash drawers responsibly.
Parts & Inventory Coordination
- Research, locate, and order the correct marine parts needed for ongoing jobs.
- Follow up on part deliveries to ensure repair timelines stay on track.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Manage daily shop bills and ensure vendors are paid on time.
- Handle internal payroll processing.
- Organize and prepare all financial documents, receipts, and invoices to be sent to our accountant.
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Basic Computer Skills: Comfort using email, search engines, and basic software for ordering parts and managing schedules.
- Top-Notch Organization: Ability to track work orders, parts receipts, and financial documents without breaking a sweat.
- Self-Motivated: A proactive mindset—you see what needs to be done and you do it.
- Fast Learner: Ability to quickly pick up shop workflows, software, and industry terminology.
Bonus Points (Not Required, but a Plus!):
- A basic understanding of combustion engines or a general interest in boating/marine mechanics.
- Previous experience in an automotive or marine service environment.
- Basic bookkeeping or QuickBooks experience.
