About the Role:
Join our team at Pet Supplies Plus in Lafayette, IN, as a Freshwater Fish & Fish Tank Specialist! You will be the go-to expert for our customers, helping them create vibrant aquatic environments while sharing your passion for fish care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on freshwater fish species, tank setups, and maintenance.
- Assist customers in selecting the right fish, plants, and equipment for their aquariums.
- Maintain the health and cleanliness of fish tanks and aquatic displays.
- Educate customers on proper fish care, feeding, and tank cycling techniques.
- Monitor water quality and perform necessary tests to ensure optimal conditions.
- Restock and organize fish supplies and related merchandise on the sales floor.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on freshwater fish care trends.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in aquatics or a related retail environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of freshwater fish species and aquarium maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, such as aquariums and supplies.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for educating others.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of water chemistry and aquarium ecosystems.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.
