We are hiring an experienced Freight Broker with an active book of shipper business who can begin generating revenue shortly after joining our team.
This is a customer-facing sales and brokerage role for someone who has personally developed and maintained direct shipper relationships. The right candidate will bring an established network of active customers and have a realistic, lawful plan for transitioning those relationships without violating confidentiality, non-solicitation, or employment agreements.
You will own the complete brokerage process, including customer acquisition, pricing, carrier sourcing, shipment execution, margin management, and account growth. This is not a carrier-sales, account-support, or freight-coordination-only position.
Responsibilities
- Transition and grow an established book of active shipper customers
- Develop additional business through prospecting, referrals, networking, and relationship building
- Prepare freight quotes and negotiate customer and carrier rates while protecting gross profit
- Source reliable carriers and manage shipments from booking through final delivery
- Maintain direct communication with customers regarding shipment status, delays, and service issues
- Resolve operational challenges while protecting customer relationships and account profitability
- Track revenue, gross profit, shipment volume, margins, and account performance
Requirements
- 2+ years of direct freight brokerage or transportation sales experience
- Active book of shipper business with customer relationships personally developed and maintained
- Ability to bring revenue-producing customer relationships upon joining
- Proven success prospecting, closing shipper accounts, and growing repeat business
- Direct customer sales experience required; carrier-sales-only backgrounds will not be considered
- Strong understanding of freight pricing, carrier sourcing, lane management, and gross-profit protection
- Ability to independently manage freight from initial quote through final delivery
- Strong negotiation, communication, relationship-management, and problem-solving skills
Benefits
- $72,000 draw, approximately $1,500 per week
- Commission of up to 20% of gross profit
- Uncapped earning potential
- Health insurance and benefits package
- Retirement plan options
- Paid time off
This opportunity is ideal for an established Freight Broker who wants greater ownership of their customer relationships, sales pipeline, gross profit, and long-term earning potential.
