This position is responsible for managing the operations related to delinquent accounts of the Hot Check Division.

Major Duties

  • Intake cases for new and existing accounts; update account information.
  • Process final notices to be mailed to delinquent account holders.
  • Makes daily collection calls.
  • Interview difficult hot check writers to determine whether they qualify for short-term payment plans; obtain financial information to ensure payment of debt.
  • Create weekly lists by ZIP codes to facilitate investigators' contact with hot-check writers.
  • Utilize the LexisNexis Investigative Portal to locate individuals, businesses, and assets.
  • Determine whether a writer has defaulted on an account; submit cases for the preparation of warrants and arrests.
  • Develop and deliver presentations, pamphlets, and posters.
  • Assist with accepting payments on accounts.
  • Reconcile and prepare daily deposits.
  • Prepares a variety of regular and special reports.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Must have one ( 1 ) year of working experience.

Complexity/Scope of Work

  • The work consists of performing related duties in the investigation and collection of monies from hot check writers. Dealing with uncooperative individuals may contribute to the complexity of the position.
  • The purpose of this position is to manage the delinquent accounts operations of the Hot Check Division. Successful performance in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of those operations.
