Job Summary
The Franklin County Campus Director provides leadership and administrative oversight for the day-to-day operations of the Franklin County Campus of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Shelbyville. This position advances the institution’s mission of delivering high-quality technical education and workforce development by promoting student achievement, cultivating strong industry partnerships, and engaging the surrounding community. The Director functions as the on-site administrator for the campus and serves as TCAT Shelbyville’s representative to local businesses, civic organizations, and educational institutions. Additional responsibilities include leading recruitment efforts for non-traditional students, managing the campus’ social media presence and press communications, supporting institution-wide marketing strategies, and overseeing the planning and execution of college events. Due to the demands of this role, schedule flexibility beyond standard hours may be necessary.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.
• A minimum of three (3) years of combined experience in teaching, administration, and student recruitment within a post-secondary institution, including responsibilities that involve independent decision-making.
• Demonstrated strengths in leadership, interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication.
• Strong professional writing background, including experience producing business communications such as press releases, marketing materials, and institutional reports.
• Track record of strong work results, including timely completion of reporting requirements, management of multiple concurrent projects, and effective collaboration with employers and industry partners.
• Proficient in computer systems and applications with a working knowledge of network environments and student information management platforms.
• Ability to build and sustain productive relationships with local businesses, employers, workforce development agencies, secondary schools, and post-secondary institutions.
• Sound judgment and effective decision-making skills in a variety of institutional settings.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license required.
• Must be willing to travel as needed to fulfill position responsibilities.
