Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

Blue Origin is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Strategic Finance to lead the company's core financial planning processes and serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership on critical business decisions. This leader will own the day-to-day forecasting cadence, annual operating plan (AOP), long-range planning, and strategic finance activities including M&A diligence support, financial modeling, and business case development.

This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of operational finance and corporate strategy. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, brings world-class financial modeling skills, and has the executive presence to present insights and recommendations to the most senior leaders in the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Forecasting

Own and continuously improve Blue Origin's enterprise forecasting process, including monthly and quarterly forecast cycles, variance analysis, and rolling outlooks.
Lead the annual operating plan (AOP) process end-to-end-from strategic guidance and target-setting through detailed bottoms-up builds, consolidation, challenge sessions, and final Board-ready deliverables.
Develop and maintain the company's 5-Year Long-Range Plan (LRP), integrating programmatic milestones, capital investment plans, revenue trajectories, workforce plans, and cash flow projections.
Partner closely with program finance, accounting, treasury, and business unit leaders to ensure alignment between operational plans and financial forecasts.
Drive forecast accuracy improvements through process discipline, enhanced analytics, and tighter integration with operational data sources.
Build and maintain executive-level reporting packages, dashboards, and KPIs that provide leadership with clear, timely, and actionable financial insights.

Strategic Finance & Analysis

Serve as the finance lead on M&A diligence efforts, including financial model development, target company analysis, synergy identification, valuation, deal structuring considerations, and integration planning support.
Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives, partnerships, joint ventures, new business opportunities, and capital allocation decisions.
Develop compelling, data-driven business cases for investment decisions, new programs, capacity expansion, and other strategic priorities-ensuring rigor in assumptions, scenario analysis, and risk assessment.
Provide ad hoc analytical support to the VP of Finance and executive leadership on emerging strategic questions and board-level requests.
Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform Blue Origin's financial strategy and positioning.

Cross-Functional Partnership

Serve as a trusted financial advisor to program leaders, engineering executives, and operational stakeholders across the enterprise.
Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Investor Relations, and Legal to ensure cohesion across financial processes, reporting, and strategic communications.
Collaborate with key leaders to integrate cost insights into planning processes and strategic analyses.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
12+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role (Senior Manager level or above) within FP&A, strategic finance, corporate development, or investment banking.
Deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and long-range planning in a complex, multi-program or multi-business unit environment.
Demonstrated experience supporting M&A transactions, including financial diligence, valuation, and business case development.
Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and financial planning tools
Proven ability to synthesize complex financial and operational data into clear narratives and executive-ready recommendations.
Exceptional communication and executive presence with the ability to influence VP and C-suite stakeholders.
Strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Prior experience in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or other capital-intensive industries.
Investment banking or corporate development background with hands-on deal execution experience.
Experience with government contracting financials, milestone-based revenue recognition, or program-based P&L management.
CPA, CFA, or CMA designation.
Familiarity with AI-enabled finance tools, advanced analytics, or business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Python).
Experience preparing materials for Board of Directors, investors, or lenders.
