FP&A Analyst - Healthcare Industry

Role Summary
We are seeking an FP&A Analyst at the III IV or V level to support financial planning and operational analysis within a dynamic healthcare setting. This role is highly visible, providing insights into hospital operations, patient activity, and financial performance that directly influence strategic decisions.

You will partner with cross functional healthcare teams to analyze trends, develop forecasts, and support decision making across both operational and financial dimensions. This role offers a unique blend of healthcare analytics and FP&A, ideal for professionals looking to deepen their impact in the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze healthcare operational metrics such as daily census, patient volume, and average length of stay
• Develop and maintain forecasts, budgets, and financial models supporting hospital operations
• Perform variance analysis and provide insights into key drivers of financial and operational performance
• Respond to ad hoc data requests and deliver actionable insights to both finance and non finance stakeholders
• Break down financial performance by payer mix including Medicare and commercial segments
• Support workforce planning efforts including FTE analysis and resource forecasting
• Build dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Conduct benchmarking and cost analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement

Key Requirements
• Level III minimum 3 years Level IV minimum 6 years Level V minimum 8 years of FP&A or financial analysis experience
• Strong SQL skills including data extraction, query development, and working with multiple data sources
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Proven experience in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis in complex environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field
• Advanced Excel capabilities including pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial modeling
• Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and finance teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience within the healthcare industry, supporting hospital operations, payer models, or integrated delivery systems
• Understanding of both provider and payer financial dynamics
• Experience working with large scale healthcare data environments
• Project management experience and exposure to senior leadership
• Advanced certifications such as CPA FP&A certification or a Master’s degree
