Step into the Foundry Floor
Join a hands-on manufacturing team where every shift contributes to high‑quality metal castings. As a Foundry Operations Technician, you may be placed in the FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection), Finishing, or X‑Ray department based on production needs. Youll work with purpose, keep product flowing, and help ensure our customers receive parts that meet strict specifications.
What a Day Might Look Like
Your day starts with a safety check and review of job-specific work instructions. From there, youll move into your assigned area:
In Finishing, you will:
- Run castings through an automated finishing cell according to job-specific work instructions.
- Set up and load the saw fixture to remove gating and risers.
- Visually inspect castings to customer requirements while keeping production moving.
- Perform audits and gauge parts as needed.
- Enter scrap and/or production information into the Plex system.
- Suggest better methods or process improvements for finishing tasks.
- Keep the work area clean and free of sand.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
In FPI, you will:
- Load and unload parts on and off the line.
- Examine parts for visual defects.
- Load parts into the Telesis marking system and verify correct part identification.
- Visually inspect castings to customer requirements while maintaining production flow.
- Record scrap and/or production details in Plex.
- Recommend improvements to task execution and finishing processes.
What You Bring
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working in a high-heat setting.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions.
- Capability to write, complete required paperwork, and enter information into the Plex system.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Stamina to stand for 8+ hours per day.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
