Position Overview
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely transporting, loading, and unloading oversized pipe materials throughout an industrial facility. This Forklift Operator role involves operating forklifts to move pipes ranging from 40 50 feet in length while supporting production and shipping operations. The ideal Forklift Operator is safety-focused, dependable, and experienced handling long or heavy materials.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous forklift operating experience required
Experience handling long or oversized materials preferred
Ability to safely transport and position heavy loads
Comfortable working in an industrial or outdoor environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
Strong attention to safety and detail
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate forklifts to move 40 50 foot pipes safely throughout the facility
Load and unload materials from trucks and staging areas
Ensure proper placement and secure handling of oversized materials
Assist with staging materials for production and shipping
Support basic operation of manufacturing equipment as needed
Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance concerns
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing, steel, or pipe environments
Experience operating side loaders or extended fork equipment
Basic mechanical or machine operation experience
Work Environment
Industrial and warehouse environment
Exposure to heavy materials, forklifts, machinery, and outdoor conditions
Physically active role requiring lifting, standing, bending, and equipment operation
PPE required while working in operational areas
