A leading design and fabrication company is seeking a Forklift Operator to support daily material movement, loading, unloading, and staging operations in a steel fabrication environment. The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-conscious operator with experience handling steel materials and operating large-capacity forklifts in an industrial setting. Working under general supervision, this role plays an important part in supporting production flow, shipment preparation, and safe material handling throughout the facility.
Salary: $18/hr$20/hr DOE Location: Houston, TX Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire Hours: Day shift 6:00 am2:30 pm
Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts to move, load, and unload steel materials safely and efficiently
Handle materials ranging from pallets to structural steel angles, beams, and other large steel products
Support lifts involving materials from approximately 2,000 to 15,000 pounds
Prepare products and materials for shipment
Load, unload, and stage products and materials in designated areas
Track and record units of material handled as required
Support daily production and warehouse material flow needs
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all company safety and quality procedures at all times
Requirements
Previous forklift experience in a steel fabrication environment required
Experience handling steel materials in fabrication, construction, or related industrial settings preferred
Familiarity with forklifts ranging from 8,000 lb. to 15,000 lb. capacity
Pallet jack and other industrial vehicle experience preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Ability to work outdoors or in all-weather conditions as needed
Strong work ethic, reliable transportation, and dependable attendance required
Ability to handle a physical workload in a fast-paced industrial environment
