Objective: The primary function of a Forklift Operator 2 is to pull inventory from the shelves to ensure accurate delivery of warehouse products and load completed, wrapped pallets onto trucks for delivery while ensuring orders are accurate and records of inventory are kept up to date for a smooth flow in warehouse operations.
Accountabilities:
- Receive and check incoming pick tickets.
- Locate products using technology.
- Retrieve orders according to quantity, size etc. ensuring accuracy.
- Operate forklift in and around warehouse in a safe manner.
- Move completed pallets to wrap machine before loading on trucks.
- Ensure that correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Re-stock inventory manually or with warehouse equipment.
- Keep records of completed orders.
- Replenish pallets for Builders when needed.
- May also assist as Voice Pick Builder when necessary and other duties as assigned.
- Maintain equipment and report on malfunctions.
- Make sure warehouse is clean at the end of each shift while also adhering to health & safety policies and quality standards.
- Responsible to perform any forklift operator job functions and be able to successfully perform layer pick forklift functions that include: ensuring the timely execution and completion of work involved in receiving, dunnage control, replenishment, full pallet picking, operation of Layer Line, flow rack picking, and sanitation.
- Full pallet picks, layer line, dunnage sorting/loading, inbound receiving, and putaway.
- Successfully operate a forklift in a specific area which includes: receiving offloading and putaway, dunnage sorting and loading, full pallet pick, flow rack picking, layer line pulling, and replenishment of the vertical storage racks.
Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years experience in handling forklifts with sit-down counterbalance with clamps, pallets jacks and other PIT equipment or other warehouse position.
- Experience in using voice picking systems or RF devices preferred.
- Great attention to detail.
- Diligent and punctual.
- Ability to work in a team environment and handle all duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis from ground level and overhead.
- Candidate must pass a post offer non-DOT drug screen, physical, lift test and background check.
- Must be have availability to work scheduled shift, Monday-Friday, 8am-end of shift as well as holidays.
