The Forklift Operator load, unload, transfer and stack product in the warehouse, Test Rooms, lab transit test equipment, model shop work areas and trucks while meeting safety, quality, and on-time delivery objectives. These roles are also responsible for correctly processing Inventory transfers through the Engineering Lab Portal (ELP) and scanners along with entering all inventory into the ELP.
Position Responsibilities may include:
Nature & Scope: Takes direction from lead/Supervisor. Works within well-defined instructions.
Knowledge & Skills: Ability to successfully process (ex: Basic Loading and Unloading) factory transfers in a safe and efficient manner without damage and with minimal supervision. Ability to operate a forklift safely and work in a fast-paced warehouse – Must pass in-house forklift training. Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office, Outlook, and data entry. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Good organization and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines. Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job. Ability to effectively establish positive working relationships with employees & customers. Ability to understand and follow all Company rules, policies, procedures and requirements especially for safety, quality, delivery and productivity/cost. Successfully process engineering transfers. Learn ELP and inventory scanning systems. Good Warehouse Management practices. Learn label change processes. Perform ELP/Inventory self-audits. Load/Unload units to test labs and into test rooms.
Experience: 0-2 years industrial forklift experience within a large-scale high-volume warehouse/distribution facility.
Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED Forklift Certification- provided by in-house training team (40 hrs. forklift training)

Physical Requirements / Work Environment Capable of working eventually in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, and extreme cold in the Houston area. Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 50 lbs. Standing for extended periods of time per day. Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis. Ability to frequently mount and dismount forklifts and cranes. Must have good hand-eye coordination. Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
