Foreman – Miscellaneous Metals
Direct Hire | Swanton, VT
Pay: $30–$40/hour (based on experience)

Manpower is partnering with a reputable metals fabrication and installation company in Swanton, VT to hire an experienced Miscellaneous Metals Foreman on a direct hire basis. This is a hands-on leadership role for a skilled professional who enjoys leading crews in the field while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Position Overview
The Miscellaneous Metals Foreman will supervise and lead field crews responsible for the installation of stairs, railings, handrails, ladders, platforms, embeds, supports, and other custom metal components. This role requires strong technical expertise in metal installation, field fitting, layout, and jobsite coordination. The foreman works closely with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee installation crews on miscellaneous metal projects
  • Interpret shop drawings, field measurements, and installation details
  • Perform layout, fitting, and minor field modifications as required
  • Ensure proper installation through welding, bolting, anchoring, and alignment
  • Coordinate material deliveries, site access, and daily workflow
  • Safely operate and oversee use of cranes, lifts, rigging, and tools
  • Maintain a safe jobsite and enforce company and OSHA safety standards
  • Communicate daily progress, needs, and jobsite challenges with project management
  • Troubleshoot fitment, alignment, and field-condition issues
  • Train, mentor, and develop less experienced installers
  • Lead by example with a focus on productivity, quality, and teamwork
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in miscellaneous metals installation (required)
  • 1+ year in a lead, foreman, or crew supervisor role (preferred)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings and job specifications
  • Proficient in layout, measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling, bolting, anchoring, and welding
  • Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Comfortable operating lifts, rigging equipment, and hand/power tools
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying outdoor conditions
  • OSHA 10/30 and/or rigging certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license required
