Our client is a heavy civil site development company managing projects ranging from infrastructure to mining. Our work includes site preparation, reclamation, mass excavation, utilities, and landfill projects across commercial, industrial, municipal, and select mining markets.
The Foreman leads field crews on heavy civil site development projects, ensuring safe execution, quality workmanship, and on-time production. This role coordinates daily operations, equipment, and communication with management and engineering to keep work moving efficiently and safely.
·Lead daily field operations to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
·Operate and oversee heavy equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
·Execute work plans from management and engineering; read plans, interpret grades, and support field layout.
·Set up and work with GPS base stations and GPS-guided equipment.
·Conduct JSAs, toolbox talks, workplace exams, and project-specific safety communication.
·Identify production constraints, communicate issues quickly, and implement solutions in the field.
·Maintain equipment, tools, fuel inventory, and company vehicle to company standards.
·Complete daily logs, load counts, fuel records, and expense documentation accurately and on time.
·Keep the job site clean, prepared for weather impacts, and compliant with erosion control requirements.
·Guide and support crew members, including minor emergency equipment repairs when needed.
·Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and safe jobsite practices.
·Strong knowledge of site preparation, grading, layout, and road construction techniques.
·Ability to read engineered plans, interpret field layout, and work with GPS-guided equipment.
·Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
·Ability to communicate effectively in English and maintain accurate daily records.
·Valid driver’s license with fewer than three moving violations in the last three years.
·Ability to pass drug and alcohol screenings and lift at least 40 lbs.
·Comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding, fast-paced construction environment.
This role involves regular field work around active construction operations in varying weather conditions. The Foreman must be comfortable leading crews, managing deadlines, performing physical tasks, and maintaining a strong safety focus throughout the workday.
