The High School Defensive Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the defensive side of the football program. This position plays a vital role in developing student-athletes both on and off the field by fostering discipline, accountability, leadership, and teamwork. The Defensive Coordinator works closely with the Head Coach and coaching staff to build a competitive, well-prepared, and fundamentally sound defense that reflects the values and standards of Lexington Senior High School.
Qualifications: • Previous high school or collegiate football coaching experience. • Defense preferred. • Strong Knowledge of defensive schemes, coverages, and front alignments. • Ability to teach and communicate effectively with student-athletes. • Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to build positive relationships. • Commitment to developing student-athletes academically, athletically, and socially. • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, administration, parents, and community stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: • Prior Defensive Coordinator or Head Coaching Experience. • Experience using film breakdown and scouting software (Hudl). • Teaching license or eligibility for employment with the school district.
