The Football Athletic Trainer (TemporaryContract) serves as an integral member of the Colorado State Football Sports Medicine team andassistsin the delivery of comprehensive sports medicine services for NCAA Division I Footballstudent-athletes. This position supports the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, recovery, and performance optimization of football student-athletes through evidence-based clinical practice and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Under the direction of the Head Football Athletic Trainer, Team Physicians,and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Health and Performance, the position works collaboratively withsports medicine staff,strength and conditioning staff, nutrition staff, mental health staff, and other qualified medical personnel to optimize student-athlete health, safety, and performance.

Assistwith primary athletic training coverage for NCAA Division I Football practices, competitions, training sessions, and team travelwhile abiding by the rules and regulationsestablishedby Colorado State University,thePac-12 Conference, andtheNCAA
Provide clinical evaluation, treatment,rehabilitationandappropriate referralof injuries and illnesses under the general supervision of theHead Football Athletic Trainerandin accordance withstandards of the NATABOC and state regulatory board
Utilizeelectronicmedical records systems and platforms to ensuretimely,accurate,and compliant medical documentationin accordance withmedical documentation standards
Collaboratewithsports medicine staff,team physicians, strength and conditioning staff, nutrition staff, mental health staff, and other qualified medical personnel to deliverbest-in-classcare to student-athletes
Assistwith coverage planning throughout calendar year including summer camps and other football-related activities
Assistwith inventory management,purchasing,andequipment maintenancefor Football sports medicine facility
Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Positionmayassistwith oversight of student employees, volunteers, and interns as applicable
Criminal Background Check
Valid driver's license
Ability to work evenings, weekends,andholidays, and travel as needed
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in health and exercise science, sports medicine, kinesiology,anatomyor related field
Current BOC certification
Minimum oftwoyears ofpreviousexperience as a certified athletic trainer, preferably in an intercollegiate sports medicine or athletic training program at the NCAA Division I level
Active Athletic Training licensewith the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)prior to the start date of employment (seehttps://dpo.colorado.gov/AthleticTrainerforadditionalinformation)
Ability to respond professionally and competently in emergency situations
Master’s degree
Previousathletic training experience for a NCAA Division I Football or professional football program
Previousexperience working within an integrated health and performance model
Proficient inutilizingathlete medicalrecords systemsand platforms for documentation
