Description and Functions:

Thrive in a high-volume kitchen environment? We are seeking a Food Services Specialist to assist in the large-scale preparation of 500+ daily meals. You will work alongside a supportive team to execute standardized recipes, manage food prep stations, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your bulk-cooking and organizational skills.

About the City of Evanston:

The city of Evanston is a small and friendly Rocky Mountain community that is a 45-minute drive from the world-famous ski slopes of Park City, Utah. Essential Functions:

The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.

  • With the Food Services Assistants assistance, directs, coordinates, prepares, and supervises food preparation for meals within the menus guidelines, dietary requirements, appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation standards.
  • Trains workers in safety and sanitation.
  • Prepares all religious and medically necessary diets and substitutions as needed.
  • Directs the portioning and serving of all meals.
  • Oversees distribution of bulk food and pre-plated meals.
  • Ensures that health guidelines are met in the daily preparation of food.
  • Manages inventory and reviews daily on all items.
  • Completes daily inventories of knives, controlled food items, and tools.
  • Observes and records food, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures.

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of kitchens and warehouses.
  • Knowledge of food service equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations and universal knowledge of inventory tracking.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience Substitution: 2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Food Services Assistant.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None.
  • Education: Associates Degree (typically in Culinary Arts).
  • Experience: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Food Services Assistant.

Physical Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and push 50 pounds.
  • Will be required to drive a delivery truck.
  • Working evenings and weekends.

Notes:

  • FLSA: Non-Exempt
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions.
  • Drug testing will be completed on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
  • A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
  • A current Influenza Vaccination is required.
