Who We Are:

The Slick Cafe operates five days per week, providing breakfast and lunch service to all staff. The operation includes hot-line cooking, grill and specialty stations, salad bar service, and deli offerings. The team maintains food safety compliance, manages inventory and receiving, and supports a clean and welcoming dining environment.

Objectives of this Role:
  • Supports daily cafeteria operations by assisting with food preparation, serving meals during breakfast and lunch service, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring a clean and organized kitchen and serving environment.
  • Role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced food service setting.
  • Commercial kitchen environment. Exposure to heat, steam, and cold storage areas.
  • Requires standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Work with food preparation, including: Salad bar preparation and replenishment,
  • Basic vegetable and ingredient prep, Portioning and assembling food items.
  • Serve food in accordance with portion standards and food safety guidelines.
  • Support breakfast and lunch service on assigned stations, which may include:
  • Grill station, Hot serving line, Deli station, Pizza station, Salad bar maintenance.
  • Monitor and replenish food items during service.
  • Have professional and courteous demeanor with customers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of: Food preparation areas, Serving counters, Equipment and utensils, Dining and kitchen areas as assigned.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies.
  • Work with dishwashing and trash removal as needed.
  • Deep clean assigned kitchen and service areas.
  • Work with inventory organization and stock rotation as needed.
  • Support restocking of supplies and dry goods.
  • Work with light receiving and storage of food deliveries.
  • Participate in cross-training on additional stations.
  • Attend required safety and food handling training sessions.
  • Adhere to all company policies and health regulations.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Support team members during peak service periods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-3 years: Prior food service experience preferred but not required. Food Handler’s License preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • 0-3 years: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30–40 pounds.
  • 0-3 years: Strong teamwork and communication skills. Dependable attendance and punctuality required.
