SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Milford School District is seeking a reliable, student-centered FoodService Worker I to support daily cafeteria operations, including food preparation, serving, sanitation, and point-of-sale tasks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Prepare, cook, and serve food in accordance with recipes and safety guidelines.
- Operate point-of-sale system; record meals and maintain student/staff lunch accounts.
- Maintain a sanitary kitchen, serving areas, and equipment.
- Set up and break down serving stations; assist with daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
- Follow food safety requirements, including allergen awareness and label review.
- Accurately portion ingredients and complete production records.
- Maintain positive customer service for students, staff, and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional catering support.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:- Some knowledge of proper methods of serving food and the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliances
- Some knowledge of cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliances
- Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions
- Ability to read and write English
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months of food preparation experience (large-scale preferred).
- Ability to read menus, recipes, and instructions; basic math competency.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work independently or on a team in a fast-paced environment.
