Summary

This job is open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three 3 or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties

The food service worker serves as a food service provider helping in the preparation, presentation, and the serving or delivery of light food items offered for sale to patrons. Works behind the counter and sets up and/or replenishes food and hot/cold drink and specialty items and the associated condiments for a food services/nack bar operation. Serves light food items requiring little or no preparation time to patrons from a service cart at a beach side resort property location. Performs expeditor duties by delivering food to customers or bringing out food to a service buffet area. Performs a variety of duties incident to the maintenance, cleanliness, and sanitation of the area to which assigned.

Requirements

Conditions of employment: Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification and eligibility for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification E-Verify check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.

  1. Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
  2. Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order.
  3. Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
  4. Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
  5. Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
  6. Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
  7. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals in order to take orders and provide change and determine the number of portions required.

Area of Consideration: This job is open to candidates who are within the Local Surrounding Commuting Area. NOTE Local Surrounding Commuting area defines as within 50 miles of Installation Name. Military Spouse Preference MSP and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference ISMP eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.

Allowances and Differentials: This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule FWS pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
