MIRAMAR CULTURAL CENTER
AS NEEDED Positions (NO BENEFITS)
This is an on-call/AS NEEDED position (NO BENEFITS) supporting the MIRAMAR CULTURAL CENTER THEATRE as follows:
Emergency Management Responsibilities:
Note: During emergency conditions, all City of Miramar employees are automatically considered emergency service workers. City of Miramar employees are subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and are expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned.
Essential Functions
Banquet Server
Responsible for working across several areas of Food & Beverage while providing an excellent guest experience in an attentive, courteous, and efficient way
Ability to work in all areas of Food & Beverage including Bar, Restaurant, Kitchen, Conference and Events
Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends and alternate shifts
Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 75 pounds, bending and reaching
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
Take and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service
Prepare set ups for tables and/or rooms
Strive to achieve departmental targets with customer service
Ensure cleanliness of work areas
Comply with local licensing laws, security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job
Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires the ability to exert minimal but not constant physical effort to perform light work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking and may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 25 pounds), visual perception and discrimination, the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, perceive and discriminate color, perceive odors, and require oral communications.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is regularly performed in a dynamic environment that requires the need to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs.

Position Requirements/Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual: Spanish or other foreign language skills are beneficial
Previous Food & Beverage and/or industry experience desirable; including working in an outdoor environment with exposure to various weather conditions
Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations, Cash handling and basic computer literacy are preferred
