TITLE: Food Service - Summer Activities Coordinator
WORK YEAR: Temporary summer position, approximately 8 hours per week for 8 weeks. Program dates anticipated June 22, 2026 through August 14, 2026.
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Nutrition Services, the Summer Activities Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the coordination and facilitation of educational, recreational, and agriculture-based enrichment activities during the Oxford Public Schools Summer Eats Program. The coordinator will help create a welcoming and engaging environment for students and families participating in summer meal programming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with planning and facilitating student enrichment activities Lead lawn games, crafts, coloring activities, and outdoor recreation Facilitate agriculture, gardening, greenhouse, and STEM-based activities Assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students and families Support setup and cleanup of activity spaces and materials Encourage student participation and engagement during Summer Eats programming Assist with monitoring outdoor activity and greenhouse areas Collaborate with Nutrition Services staff to support summer programming initiatives Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nutrition Services
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
High School diploma preferred. Experience working with children, recreation programs, camps, educational activities, or agriculture/gardening programs preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work positively with students and families Ability to supervise and engage groups of children in activities Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with staff Interest in gardening, agriculture, outdoor learning, or STEM activities preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, moderate physical activity may be required including standing, walking, lifting activity supplies, and working outdoors in seasonal weather conditions. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, including cafeteria, greenhouse, and garden areas. Noise levels may vary depending on student participation and activity type.
