We are seeking a Food Service Specialist II who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate lifes challenges and achieve long-term wellness. Under general supervision of Food Service Director, this position:

  • Organizes storage and accurately prepares food in accordance with food safety guidelines.
  • Upholds standards for quality assurance and sanitation for food and equipment.
  • Assists with procurement of equipment, supplies and food as needed.
  • Performs general cleaning and sanitation duties.
  • Provides on-the-job training to new hires.

These positions are located at Coastal Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Summerville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

There are no minimum training and experience requirements for this class.

Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and repetitive motions. Subject to outside and inside conditions. Physical requirements of exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, an/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of food service sanitation requirements in public health. Ability to maintain food service records and prepare written reports. Ability to communicate and understand oral and written instructions. A valid Drivers License.
