Job Purpose:* The Food Services Specialist is to work as assigned within the Dietary Department to prepare, serve, and/or deliver food to Inpatient clients, Board meetings, residential units, and other staff functions. This employee is also responsible for kitchen sanitation and cleanliness including dishes, pots/pans, washing and routine cleaning of the dietary equipment, floors, and storage area.Key Responsibilities:* Plan, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual meal plans.* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.* Collaborate with nutritionists and dietitians to develop and modify menus that meet the nutritional needs of clients.* Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking of food supplies, to ensure adequate availability of ingredients and materials.* Train and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of food preparation and service.* Monitor food service operations to ensure quality control and customer satisfaction.* Implement and adhere to food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food items.* Coordinate with other departments to support special events and catering needs within the facility.* Maintain accurate records of food service activities, including meal counts, inventory logs, and compliance reports.* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
