Position Description
The General Cafeteria Worker will be working for EdAdvance in a food service program that provides quality meals to students at Region 12 Shepaug Valley High School. You will be part of a team that provides healthy, compliant lunches to students.
Major Responsibilities
• Preparing food, which may involve basic cooking • Serving food to students • Cleaning kitchen equipment and putting away stock and deliveries • Ability to drive and deliver meals to district Elementary Schools with EdAdvance vehicle
Follows all sanitation and health codes governing food preparation and personal appearance. Works with hot ovens, sharp tools, slippery floors, and some heavy lifting. General knowledge of food and nutrition is preferred.

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent • Previous food service or catering experience is a plus • Ability to operate and care for institutional-industrial equipment • Ability to drive and deliver food • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills • Must be detail-oriented and keep accurate records as directed • Possess good judgment • Requires working independently and as a team • Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position
Physical Requirements
• Moves and lifts equipment weighing up to 50 pounds • Ability to drive EdAdvance vehicle • Moves throughout the school kitchen to prepare food and perform other duties • Must be able to push and pull carts
