POSITION: Assistant Cafeteria Manager

LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT: East Hampton School District

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: July 1, 2026

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • The Assistant School Cafeteria Manager performs the duties of the Site Cafeteria Manager in the absence of the Manager.
  • The Assistant supports the implementation of the Child Nutrition program at a designated school site, adhering to all policies of the East Hampton Public Schools District and the Nutrition Services Department.
  • The Site Assistant Cafeteria Manager is responsible for ensuring that all federal/state laws and regulations governing the preparation, storage and dissemination of food are followed in addition to supporting the Site Manager's responsibilities to meet all requirements of the Federal and State Child Nutrition Program for site accountability, including production records, meal counts, and inventories.
  • Completes additional tasks and other duties as outlined by the Food Service Director to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and cafeteria.

Pay Range: $18.40-$20.32 depending on experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience or interest in food preparation.
  • Math skills for ordering, inventory, and record keeping.
  • Ability to interact with students and staff in a positive and pleasant manner.
  • Candidate must become ServSafe Certified within 12 months of attaining position.
  • Candidate must be able to lift 40 lbs, sit, stand, bend, pull, squat, use hands.
