Coordinates leads and assists Food Service Representatives who prepare food or beverages, set up patient trays, deliver patient trays, obtain patient menu selections, handle retail transactions, or who operate dishwashing machines and clean the kitchen area. Responsible for communications between the nursing units, patients, and the Food Service Department in regard to patient menus, diet changes, and general patient services. Must be familiar with dietary restrictions on special modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the supervisors/leads in the daily operation of the patient services program
- Assists with customer service recovery initiatives
- Conducts rounding on patients daily to ensure meal standards, service, and quality standards are being met and documents feedback
- Enters daily rounds into software
- Performs service recovery as needed and shares the feedback with Food Service leadership
- Assists with the onboarding and training of new patient dining associates
Requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions
- One year experience in Food Service
- One year customer service experience
- Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with patients and other hospital personnel
- Ability to problem-solve in a customer service environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year food service leadership experience
