Food Service Director

District - Eastwood and Elmwood Local Schools Position - Shared Food Service Director

Job Description: The Food Service Director is responsible for management and administration of the full food service operation within our schools, which serves breakfast and lunch. This full-time 208 day position is a shared responsibility between Eastwood Local Schools for 148 days per year and Elmwood Local Schools for 60 days per year.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent educational experience OR Associate's Degree with at least one year of relevant experience in school nutrition programs OR high school diploma and at least three years of relevant experience in school nutrition programs
• effective documentation skills
• effective communication skills
• strong knowledge of the school food service industry
• ability to plan, coordinate, and direct activities in the department
• ability to ensure that the school district is working in compliance with all health and fire regulations regarding the way the food is prepared, served, and the building maintenance is being taken care of within the facilities on all facets of campus for food services
• skilled in providing training to food services staff in the areas of food preparation and sanitation
• ability to meet varying responsibilities across two districts; ex. OAPSE contracts, district expectations, community needs
• ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community
• experience with procurement
