A Skilled Nursing Facility in the Brooklyn Area is searching for a Food Service Director.
Brooklyn, NY
Plan, assign, and inspect the work of Food Service staff
Schedule and assign staff; prepare department payroll for data entry if required
Supervise the storage and care of food and supplies
Oversee cleaning of the kitchen, storage, dining areas, and equipment
Inspect residents’ trays for consistency with specified menus
Assist on tray line during mealtimes as needed
Coordinate and plan food preparation activities for special events
Handle ordering and purchasing responsibilities
Conduct staff training and orientation
CDM certification required
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
Food service experience in long-term care settings strongly preferred
SERV Safe or Sodexo certification preferred
Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation
Solid leadership and supervisory skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively as a team member
