Position: Food Service Department Assistant
Reports to: Director of Nutrition and Food Service
Position Description: The Food Service Department Assistant is responsible for assisting in the management of administrative duties for the Nutrition & Food Service Department Office
Major Responsibilities:
- Managing and processing Food Service Department invoices
- Email correspondence with parents regarding simple administrative questions as it pertains to, but not limited to:
- Student lunch ID numbers
- Student lunch account balances
- Standardized allergy policy questions
- Generating financial reports using the District's POS System Mosaic
- Generating Monthly Meal Claims Reports using the District's POS System Mosaic
- Assisting in cash handling including counting cash from the District's school cafeteria and reconciling with Mosaic Reports
- Providing onsite cooking and preparation support for school cafeteria staff in the absence of a staff member
- Assist the Director of Nutrition & Food Service during department staff continuing education seminars
Education: High School or equivalency diploma, Serve Safe Certification
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic computer/cash register
- Ability to be flexible and handle a variety of tasks
- Ability to supervise staff
- Ability to read recipes and directions for quantity and follow directions
- Knowledge of all kitchen equipment - how it works and comes apart for cleaning
