Powers Catholic High School in Flint is seeking a Food Service Cashier.  This is a part-time position that reports to the Food Service Director.
 
Position Summary:
The Food Service Cashier 1 supports daily cafeteria operations at Powers Catholic High School. This position is responsible for accurately recording student sales during breakfast and lunch using the school’s POS system, stocking and restocking beverages on the serving line, and assisting with general cafeteria duties as needed. This is a part-time, school year position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Point of Sale Operation — Accurately record student purchases in the POS system during breakfast and lunch service
  • Stocking & Restocking — Perform ongoing beverage inventory checks and restock items as needed during the shift period to support uninterrupted service
  • Customer Service — Provide courteous and efficient service to students and staff
  • Cafeteria Support — Assist with general cafeteria tasks as assigned to support smooth meal operations
  • Team Collaboration — Work cooperatively with food service staff to ensure efficient daily operations

  • Lifting & Carrying — Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 40 pounds
  • Bending & Reaching — Regularly bend, stoop, reach above shoulder height, and move items on and off shelves
  • Standing & Movement — Stand and walk for extended periods during meal service
  • Manual Dexterity — Use hands and fingers to operate POS equipment and handle food service items
  • Environmental Conditions — Work in a cafeteria environment with exposure to heat, cold, and moderate noise

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Competency and accuracy in basic computer use
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability

Working Conditions

  • Part‑time position
  • Up to 19.75 hours per week
  • Monday–Friday
  • Schedule may vary based on program needs
