As a Food Service Cashier, you will support daily retail operations by providing accurate cashiering and friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment. You will process sales through the point-of-sale system, handle cash in accordance with procedures, and help keep service areas clean, organized, and well-stocked. This role also involves assisting customers, addressing questions or concerns, and ensuring a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff. Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent service are key to success in this entry-level position.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas to provide accurate revenue collection and to assist in providing high quality customer service to customers.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Accurately records all sales in the Point of Sale System; transacts payments with customers.
Stores, counts, deposits and maintains register cash and receivables in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility.
Maintains all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well-stocked, and attractive at all times.
Provides service to customers, meeting standards and guidelines. Responds to customer complaints and assists with problem resolution.
May perform cleaning, stocking, sign maintenance and other duties as assigned.
This position is in contact with patients, other food service department personnel, hospital staff, visitors and families. This position must have excellent customer service skills and be able to resolve customer issues at the point of contact.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires effective interpersonal communication skills, a friendly customer service attitude and the ability to accurately calculate and count change rapidly and repetitively. Good reading, writing and math skills. Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required.
Requires the ability to learn Point of Sale cash register system, beverage brewing and/or dispensing equipment and cleaning equipment.
For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members, the food handlers' card is required within 30 days of hire. For BSS team members in Tucson and Colorado, the food handlers' card is not required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
