The Food Service Assistant performs work involving routine food preparation. Assembles, delivers, and/or serves meals for County nursing home residents. Cleans kitchen and dining areas.
Work Schedule: 6:15am - 2:30pm, every other weekend and Holidays required
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares and/or delivers food items according to instructions.
- Assembles necessary ingredients and prepares basic food items and takes and records temperatures of food.
- Stocks carts with trays, utensils, food, condiments, etc. Sets up food service areas and counters and serves food as required.
- Cleans and operates food service equipment.
- Cleans work area and carts according to schedule; washes and stores pots, pans, dishes; sweep and mop floors as required.
- Prevents spread of infection through proper handling, storage, washing and routine preparation of food.
- Maintains strict confidentially of client information.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards.
- Interacts with residents, staff, and others within and outside the unit to exchange information and efficiently accomplish work assignments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Cooking experience is a plus.
