Role Overview

Lead the Operation Behind Exceptional Patient Care.

 

Sodexo has an exciting opportunity for a Food Production Manager – Procurement at Yale New Haven Hospital – York Street Campus in New Haven, CT. This leader will report directly to the Executive Chef IV and oversee a team of approximately 15 union employees within a high-volume healthcare food service operation.

 

Strong union management and employee engagement experience required.

 

This role is responsible for purchasing, procurement, inventory management, vendor relations, food production tracking, and food cost control. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and operational skills with experience managing food ordering systems, inventory controls, par levels, storage procedures, and budget compliance.

 

Candidates should have previous food production, culinary, procurement, or inventory management experience within a large-scale food service environment. Healthcare experience is preferred; however, candidates from other high-volume segments will also be considered.

 

 

 

What You'll Do

  • Manage purchasing, inventory, food production forecasting, and vendor relationships
  • Monitor food costs, budgets, order guides, and product compliance
  • Ensure proper storage procedures, inventory controls, and food safety standards
  • Lead and support a team of approximately 15 union employees
  • Utilize food ordering and inventory management software systems
  • Support culinary quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance

  • Experience in food production, purchasing, procurement, or culinary operations
  • Strong understanding of inventory controls, food cost analysis, and ordering systems
  • Healthcare food service experience preferred, but candidates from other segments will be considered
  • Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven leadership experience in fast-paced food service environments

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Management Experience - 2 years Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
