Food Production Equipment Sales Representative
In-Office (Mon & Fri) + travel within territory (Tues - Thurs)
Perm Role


This position is primarily responsible for identifying, cultivating, and closing new sales opportunities to achieve sales and margin goals for the confectionery, ice cream, and coffee equipment that our client imports and distributes across North America. Responsible for building lasting relationships with new customers and winning new business across all product categories. Also responsible for educating current and prospective customers on our client's capabilities and integrated product line. Is accountable for achieving key metrics that track sales and market share growth.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Maintains a positive customer relationship to ensure converted business.
  • Builds lasting customer relationships by vetting and profiling new and existing full-line equipment and larger installation customers not doing business or set up to do business with our client today by initiating customer relationships and providing solution development-built sales.
  • Consistent outbound call efforts and face-to-face meetings with potential customers generated by prospecting calls, inbound leads, and initial sales pursuit, articulating the value proposition for solutions/products aligning to the customer needs and speaking to customer-specific use cases.
  • Responsible for developing deeper relationships with decision makers at new and existing accounts, following up on leads, and profiling potential customers to vet their real opportunity and sell our client's equipment offering.
  • Communicates with various departments to support the execution of new account opening, which includes working with Finance to facilitate the needed next steps.
  • Informs customers on our client's portfolio, promotions, and services available, assisting in the effort of growing the business.
  • Coordinates and ensures the involvement of internal resources, including culinary, packaging, custom molds, management resources, transportation, and pricing, to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Negotiates pricing and/or bid support as necessary to acquire new business or regain lost business.
  • Collaborates, coordinates, and strategizes with customers and sales management to define detailed growth strategies to grow customer business.

WHAT IS NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE
  • Minimum three (3) years related Sales experience.
  • Ability to utilize CRM software for documentation of all sales activities and for scheduling planned activities.
  • Ability to analyze, understand, and document potential customer needs.
  • Ability to prioritize prospects and then move them to purchase.

  • Knowledge of effective sales and negotiating techniques, packaging market, competitors, and ability to assess opportunities in a streamlined fashion.
  • Skills to create a nimble plan of action, aggressive techniques, and a rapid go-to-market approach.
  • Exhibits a determination to achieve ever-increasing levels of performance involving setting high standards and challenging goals, and requires a constant focus on achieving and exceeding those goals.

Education and Experience
  • Many types of educational experiences, life experiences, and work experiences can prepare a person for a job in sales. Our client will provide product knowledge training and sales training.
  • While a college degree is desired, it is not required.
  • While prior sales experience is desired, it is not required.
    • During interviews, candidates are invited to describe their prior sales experiences to include successes and how they achieved those successes; and challenges/failures and lessons learned from those experiences.
Physical Requirements:
  • You will need to possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license, a current US or Canadian passport, and have the ability to travel unimpeded throughout the US and Canada.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Required to stand for a long period of time, walk, or sit.
  • Regularly required to use hands and arms.
  • Required to communicate in English and possess basic math skills.
