About the Job
Based at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta, the Food & Beverage Intern will support the hotel's Food & Beverage operations in delivering exceptional dining experiences and maintaining Mandarin Oriental's high service standards. This role focuses on operational support, guest service excellence, and coordination across F&B outlets to ensure smooth daily operations.
The Food & Beverage Intern reports to the Food & Beverage Manager and works closely with Outlet Managers, Supervisors, and Service Teams across Food & Beverage Outlets.
As Food & Beverage Intern, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Food & Beverage Operations Support
- Assist in daily operations of restaurants and/or banqueting services.
- Support service teams in delivering high-quality guest experiences.
Administration & Coordination
- Assist with basic administrative tasks related to F&B operations.
- Support inventory tracking, requisitions, and outlet documentation.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth service flow.
Guest Experience & Communication
- Interact professionally and courteously with guests, responding to basic inquiries and requests.
- Support the team in handling guest feedback and service recovery when required.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless operations.
Learning & Development
- Learn about food & beverage service standards, menu knowledge, and hygiene practices.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other operational or administrative tasks as required to support the Food & Beverage department.
As Food & Beverage Intern, we expect from you:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Strong interest in Food & Beverage operations and hospitality service excellence.
- Good command of English with basic communication skills.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Well-groomed, disciplined, and able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
