      Description

      Memphis Sports and Events Center (MSEC) is an award-winning, state-of-the-art venue designed to promote sports tourism while simultaneously engaging local stakeholders. The 227,000 square foot facility features 16 basketball courts (adaptable to a multitude of other sports and events) as well as courtside cafes, a ninja course, an esports gaming studio, VIP suites and various other amenities. It is operated by Virginia-based Eastern Sports Management (ESM) and sits within Liberty Park, a mixed-use development of entertainment venues, dining, retail and hotels.

      The Memphis Sports and Events Center is accepting applications for a Food & Beverage Coordinator. The Food & Beverage Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating food and beverage operations throughout the facility, including concessions, catering, hospitality spaces, and special events. This position assists with operational strategy, staffing leadership, inventory management, guest experience, and financial oversight while working closely with facility leadership and event operations teams. The Food & Beverage Coordinator reports to the General Manager and/or assigned Director.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities
      • Oversee daily food and beverage operations including concessions, catering, hospitality suites, and special event services.
      • Coordinate staffing plans, scheduling, onboarding, training, supervision, and evaluation of part-time food and beverage staff.
      • Ensure high levels of customer service and guest satisfaction throughout all food and beverage operations.
      • Manage inventory levels, ordering, stocking, and organization of food and beverage supplies and equipment.
      • Work closely with vendors and suppliers to maintain product quality, pricing, and operational efficiency.
      • Monitor concession and catering operations during tournaments, events, and rentals to ensure operational standards are consistently met.
      • Assist in developing and implementing operational procedures, service standards, and food and beverage strategies.
      • Support budget management, sales reporting, operational forecasting, and expense control efforts.
      • Coordinate setup and breakdown of concessions, hospitality suites, catering areas, and premium spaces.
      • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
      • Collaborate with Operations, Events, Programming, and Marketing departments to support successful event execution.
      • Handle guest concerns, client requests, and customer-related matters professionally and efficiently.
      • Maintain knowledge of and adherence to ESM/MSEC policies, rules, and regulations.
      • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisory personnel and/or the General Manager.
      Qualifications
      • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Sports Management, or related field preferred
      • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in food and beverage operations, concessions, hospitality, catering, or related field preferred
      • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
      • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
      • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
      • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-volume event environments
      • Ability to supervise and lead operational staff professionally and effectively
      • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple operational tasks simultaneously
      • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
      • Basic working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office preferred

      The Food & Beverage Coordinator may work indoors in temperature-controlled environments as well as active event and kitchen environments.
